Q: Advice on how to start selling used cars in Houston Texas.?
I am new to this area and i have been thinking of starting a used car business.Even before i came here i had the idea in mine,i just don’t know the process i know i need a license but where do i get it.
And where are the used car dealer auctions held in this area i really need some one who is in the business and who share this information with me.
Any advice would be appreciated.
A: Business License comes from the city where your lot will be. You may be able to lease the lot, but, check the zoning! The city and other government agencies may have used cars to sell at incredibly good prices. See the links. Good Luck

Q: What’s the best way to get a good deal, on a used car, in Houston?
Details if you got ‘em.
A: I bought an Expedition in Houston about three years ago. I know when the flood came a lot of cars were involved in that. Also with Katrina, others might have been shipped over there for resale. The best bet is to run a check on the car. Also try this website – www.automotive.com
It is very resourceful, with car buying tips and classified sections. It will give you pricing quotes, factory color options, along with car reviews and auto recalls.
Q: In Houston – Tx – Which is the best Toyota (new & used car) dealership in 150 miles area?
Which is the best Toyota (new & used car) dealership in Houston – Tx in 150 miles area ; also if you know Honda or Nissan where one can find best deal & genuine transactions
A: The nice thing about the internet is it often allows you to see the Toyota dealer inventories. Certain volume Toyota dealers have limited markup and knowing which ones in your area that are reasonable certianly helps.
Another good source of pricing info is CARMAX before deciding which Toyota dealer to begin negotiating (recommend starting like Wed of 3rd week just before end of month bec yes they do have quotas & targets) but with maximum information you should know which dealer to visit 1st that has maybe several (2 or 3 of your choices) in his actual inventory… I had gotten BEST PRICE based on having possession of facsimiles and email price quotations from Toyota dealers where Sales manager where we visited saw I was well prepared and wanted to make end of month sale so he didn’t let us leave and even allowed us to call other dealer right in front of him, but we of course couldn’t disclose their fantastic price. Then again, a lot has to do with supply & demand and on some hot models that had waiting lists, I have had Toyota dealers let us walk out the door bec some idiot behind us was willing to pay price…but next Toyota dealer did give us a much better deal (bottomline requires patience)
Hope the Above Helps bec Money or Good Credit does Talk!
By the way, I used the same info and strategy for a coworker and got them a great deal even lower than what he & his wife had gotten on earlier attempts on a HONDA CRV
Q: Where is the best place to buy a used car for my first in houston?
Please help I am on a limited budget!
A: Think about a classic Ford Pinto that can be found lurking in many backyards, concealed by brambles, kudzu, and empty beer cans. The external combustion engine gives it the power and acceleration of a quadriplegic in a manual wheelchair. There have been many cases that someone has left their house, got to a stop sign 400 feet away, accelerated and got to another stop sign 35 feet away from that, and their engine will still be sitting in their driveway.
Q: Where is the best place on the net to look at used cars?
I want to buy a used car. Do you kow of any good web sites except for craigs list and autotrader? I live in Houston.
A: auto-locator.com , and autotrader.com
Q: what is the best way to ship a car from houston, TX?
What is the best way to ship a used car from Houston or Freeport?
A: first off where are you shipping to?, if local use a local tow service, if to another state use a service that will put car on a trailer for safety and no miles will be put on your cars tires.this service should be bonded and insured. if overseas, use a shipping container designed for automobiles, very dependable and safe way to go. also insured
Q: Where can I find good used cars?
Ok, I am 17 years old with my mom’s old ‘94 Nissan Sentra. I will be leaving for college in August and my current car keeps breaking down constantly. I need a dealership that will finance a 17 year old with probably no credit. Also that is near Houston, Tx.
A: No one will finance a 17 year old because you need to be 18 to legally enter in to a contract.
Even if you were 18, you’d need a large downpayment (50%) and proof of employment because most lenders consider you a high credit risk because of your age and lack of credit.
Ask mom to finance or buy another car for you. Then you can pay her back working part time. Also when you go to college, sign up for a few credit cards to build credit. But only use it sparingly (like to pay for books and gas) because if you don’t you’ll end up thousands in the hole like most college students.

Q: How can I tell if a car has been used in street racing?
After having purchased a used car that was obviously wrecking during a race, then putting thousands of dollars into its transmission, shocks and brakes, I’m ready to ditch the car and get another. How can I tell if a used car has been used in racing? The only way we knew in the last car is that the door had been replaced on the passenger side, and that was noticed only after the transmission needed to be rebuilt.
What cars are commonly used in street racing (especially in Houston) that I should simply avoid buying?
A: You have the car inspected by an ASE certified shop. Will cost between $30 and $100 depending. Avoid any Japanese car with no maintenance records, body kits, engine swap, etc.
